FAQ

For Funders

How can I become a PSFC member?

PSFC membership is open to major philanthropists who are actively engaged in the psychedelic field. Membership is by criteria, and prospective members are encouraged to reach out to learn more. There is no cost to join, and our operating expenses are supported by annual or voluntary dues from a subset of our members.

What does membership include?

Members receive invitations to in-person and virtual events with leaders across the psychedelic field, access to our quarterly newsletter and issue briefs, due diligence support and advisory guidance on funding opportunities, and connection to a community of like-minded philanthropists. PSFC helps members identify and support organizations and initiatives of interest through coordinated giving and philanthropic advisory support.

How is PSFC funded?

PSFC is a registered 501(c)(3) nonprofit. Our operating expenses are supported by annual or voluntary contributions from a subset of our members.

Does PSFC make grants directly?

PSFC is not a foundation nor does it make discretionary grants. The majority of funding that flows to the psychedelic field through our community comes from members giving directly to the organizations they choose to support. In some cases, PSFC serves as an administrative and fiscal intermediary for collaborative, member-directed funding of a shared priority area.

Does PSFC fund for-profit companies?

No. PSFC’s philanthropic focus is on nonprofit organizations and initiatives. Members who are interested in investing in the psychedelic space do so independently of PSFC.

For Field Organizations

Can I apply to PSFC for funding?

PSFC is not a funder and does not accept unsolicited proposals or grant applications. Funding decisions are made by individual members, not by PSFC staff or leadership.

How can my organization get on PSFC’s radar?

We actively track the organizations shaping the psychedelic landscape and welcome the opportunity to learn about work we may not yet know. If your organization is doing meaningful work in this space, we’d genuinely like to hear about it. Contact us to share what you’re working on.

What kinds of organizations do PSFC members support?

PSFC members fund a wide range of nonprofit efforts across the psychedelic field, including research, healthcare integration, policy reform, public education, harm reduction, and ethical practice. For a fuller picture of the funding landscape, see our Strategic Roadmap for Philanthropy.
